Castles

Biron

Chateau de Biron is only 22 km away from Peyre Blanc. It was built over a period stretching from the 12th to the 18th century and has amazing examples of the different architecures.

Gavaudun

Chateau de Gavaudun was built in the 13th century on a rocky spur and overhangs the river Lède. During the Hundred Years' War it was of central importance in the conflict between England and France. It being only 16 kilometers from Peyre Blanc makes it a perfect 'last minute' trip!

Bonaguil

Built in the 13th century, Chateau de Bonaguil was the last of the fortified castles, but was never used for that purpose. The name derives from bonne aiguille (good needle) and refers to the defensive site: a steep, rocky promontory perfectly suited to the siting of a castle.
